Entire home in Idyllwild-Pine Cove, California

Less than a half a mile away from Idyllwild’s town center our very family friendly cabin will be a great place for your group to stay and explore the Idyllwild area. Our remodelled camping themed cabin has two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a loft play area for the kids with their own tv and camping area, and a fully fenced in yard. You can pull into our driveway, close the gate and leave the car behind as you relax in our wooded yard and deck area or take the short walk into town.

The space
Our cozy, recently remodeled 1930’s cabin is the perfect place for a small group to escape to the mountains while being close to the “action” in the town of Idyllwild. Vintage camping found items adorn the walls of our modernized cabin, so that you will have everything that present day humans require with the comforting nostalgia of years gone by.

Our cabin’s interior, has two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen with washer dryer, a large living area downstairs with a dining nook & reading areas and a two room lofted kid play area upstairs.

Our bedrooms & bathrooms have smaller footprints as the cabin was built in 1931 and everything was smaller back then, however they are cozy and we think you will find that they are fully equipped with everything you should need for your stay. We have window/wall air conditioning units in both bedrooms and central heat throughout the cabin. Right now, there is only A/C in the bedrooms.

The master bedroom has a rustic king size bed with an ensuite bathroom, & jet tub/shower combo. There are blackout shades and charging stations for all of your modern day electronics, reading lamps as well as mood lighting, along with a small closet and luggage racks for your luggage. We have an a/c unit in the bedroom that can be controlled separately.

The 2nd bedroom has a bunk bed with a twin size bed on top and a queen size bed on the bottom. There are also black out shades, charging stations, reading lamps, a clothes hanging area and small luggage racks. there is also an a/c unit in this room that can be controlled separately from the other bedroom.

Both of our bedrooms have TVs with Roku/firestick access to internet based streaming apps.

The 2nd bathroom has a tub/shower combo and both bathrooms come stocked with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, linens and storage/cabinet & shelves.

Our kitchen is a galley style kitchen with access to our back deck area. It is fully equipped and stocked with all the equipment you should need. We have a drip coffee maker and will provide some coffee packets, creamer and sugar. We also usually have cooking oils, salt & pepper and basic spices. We also have a propane BBQ for grilling on our back deck. There is a washer/dryer located at the far end of our kitchen. If you have any specific requests, please let me know and I will let you know if we have it available.

The living area has a small sectional as well as a nook dining area, rocking chair, game/puzzle/book cabinet, cushioned reading area and a small sidebar area for extra storage. We have strong wifi and a large television with cable and Roku. You will need to log into your own profiles to use the internet streaming apps. We also have a stone fireplace at the center of our living space, however it is non-functional at this time.

We have a very unique space in our loft upstairs which is stocked for fun and ready for the kids! Our unique, log-ladder-esque stairway leads to the upstairs area which has a bean bag and cushioned tv hangout area in the first room and a camping themed play area in the back room. The tv hangout area comes with a roku enabled tv and is ready for video game console hookups. The camping themed play area has a small tent, toy bins, faux lit campfire area with log shaped cushions, and a starry night sky projector with bluetooth speaker. **Please note that the upstairs has lower than normal ceilings. It’s definitely meant for kids, as a lot of adults will not be able to stand up straight while walking up there.

Our entire yard (front & back) is fenced in so when you drive into our driveway, you can close the gate behind you and let the kids and dogs run free. We have a deck with dining area, propane grill, and adirondack chairs off of our kitchen. There are also rocking chairs on our front deck and cornhole equipment available. Our backyard area is wooded and fairly large, although it is slightly sloped and un-landscaped. We have garden gnomes hidden around and it’s a great place to setup scavenger hunts.

Guest access
You will have access to the entire property and cabin. There is another small cabin on the property which will be locked up as it is not yet available. Check back in the future as we will have this smaller cabin available as part of the rental soon! We won’t have separate guest groups on the property at the same time ever, so the entire property is yours. Our “Camp Malarki” is named after my long time furry companion, Barki Malarki. The two cabins on the property are named after my mom’s pups Tallulah & Guilley. The “Camp” is just one yard with two separate cabins on it. It’s a fun inspired property so we wanted to name it something fun too!
Other things to note

New Riverside County Regulations require that we collect a copy of your valid government ID, address, phone number, and sign that you are aware of your requirements as a the responsible renter for the property. We have a form that we will send you before your stay so that you can submit all of this information securely to us.

Additionally, we are required to have a noise monitoring device monitoring for excessive noise 24 hours a day. The device monitors noise on the exterior and interior of the property however it will not be recording anything, it will simply notify us if there is excessive noise so that we can contact you to rectify the situation before we become a nuisance to our neighbors.

House Rules
Checking in and out Check-in - after 3:00 PM Checkout before 11:00 AM. Self check-in with keypad During your stay, 5 guests maximum, Pets allowed. We are required by Riverside County to collect some information, including an image of your ID, as well as have you sign that you have received, reviewed and will comply with local short term rental regulations. We will be requesting for your email address so that we can have you complete all of this electronically. This is a regulatory requirement for you to stay with us, so I appreciate your understanding. EARLY CHECK INS AND LATE DEPARTURES must be approved first as we often have same day departures/check ins. There will be a $35 EARLY CHECK IN/LATE DEPARTURE FEE if it is possible. We request that you ask for this at least 3 days before your stay starts, as this often requires extra coordination with our cleaners/maintenance/etc. and is reliant on their schedules as well. This fee increase to $70 FOR EARLY CHECK INS BEFORE 1PM AND/OR LATE DEPARTURES AFTER 1PM. These fees are per occurrence, so if you would like to both check in early and depart late you will be charged two fees accordingly. *FOR LAST MINUTE REQUESTS (less than 3 days before your stay starts), if approved, there will be an additional $25 fee. These schedule changes require a lot of extra coordination with our support services and are often very difficult to accommodate as we really strive to make sure that the everything is properly prepared for our guests stay. I appreciate your understanding. If you have some flexibility regarding check in times and would like to avoid the fees, just let me know that you'd like to be informed if it's ready early and I will make sure to let you know! LUGGAGE DROPS (dropping only luggage off at the property before check in time or after check out time, then promptly leaving the property until check in time) is only possible with approval as well. There is no fee for a luggage drop. Approved luggage drops can never be dropped off earlier than 11:30 AM on the day of check in nor picked up later than 2:00 PM on the day of check out. These times may be different in coordination with the other reservations that we have surrounding your reservation, so please connect with me first so that we can ensure you don't overlap with another reservation. All pieces of luggage must be placed together in a place that is out of the way as much as possible, so that our cleaners can easily clean and prepare the property. This is best in a bedroom closet, or bedroom corner. Please do not linger at the property after dropping your bags off as our cleaners are trying very hard to get the property ready for a punctual check in time!
